Airport Information
Ireland is very well served by both international and regional airports. Most international flights arrive to Shannon, Dublin, Cork or Belfast. A range of other transport services are easily accessible to travel to Limerick from these airports.

Shannon Airport is located in Shannon, County Clare on the West Coast of Ireland. The airport is about 15 miles from Limerick City and Ennis, and 56 miles from Galway City.

Shannon airport provides service to and from domestic and international destinations from airlines including:

*N.B.* - From the 4th Febuary 2008, Shannon Airport will be starting a twice daily service with Charles De Gaulle Airport, Paris (City Jet). Therefore, if travelers cannot fly directly to Shannon Airport, we suggest the following route:
     - Fly to Charles De Gaulle Airport, Paris
     - Connect from Charles De Gaulle to Shannon Airport

*Shannon can also be accessed from other destinations via Dublin Airport

Taxis are available at the 24-hour taxi desk in the Arrivals Hall. Fixed rates are available to University of Limerick / Limerick City and range from €30 - €40. You can use Iarnrod Eireann's frequent InterCity Train Service to and from Limerick, which has a regular bus connection from Shannon Airport to its Railway Station. Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport is located about 6 miles north of Dublin's city centre. Dublin Airport serves both international and domestic airlines and is the main airport in Ireland. For more information on Dublin Airport, visit www.dublinairport.ie.

Where flights cannot be made directly, Dublin can be accessed via London, and Charles De Gaulle, Paris.

For those flying into Dublin Airport, we recommend the following connection:

     -Connect from Dublin Airport to Shannon Airport

Bus & Train Information
Alternatively, bus and train Services operate from Dublin City Centre to Limerick City. A Travel Information desk is located in the Arrivals Concourse. There is no rail link to the airport, however a bus departs every 15 minutes to the city centre and bus station. The journey takes roughly 30 minutes. Visit www.aircoach.ie for more information.

Taxi Service
There are plenty of taxis available outside the airport, and the average price from the airport to city centre is €20.00.

Cork Airport is located 5 miles from the city centre and is well signposted on all major routes. A frequent bus service operates from the airport to the city centre. For more information, visit www.corkairport.com

Train services operate from Cork's Kent station to Limerick City.

There is a taxi rank located outside the main terminal. The cost should be between €10 and €12 from the airport to City Centre and Central Railway station.

General Travel Information

By Bus
Ireland's national bus and rail services are run by CIE (Coras Iompar Eireann). Visitors travelling around Ireland by public transport should always enquire about special discounted fares or Rambler/Explorer tickets which offer unlimited bus/rail travel for 3, 5 or 15 days.

By Car
Reach Limerick via the N7 from the north and east, the N20, N21, N24 and N69 from the south, and the N18 from the north and west.

By Rail
Although limited by its island status, Ireland's Irish Rail ( +353 61 315 555/ http://www.irishrail.ie) unites Limerick with most regions throughout the country daily. Trains arrive at Limerick's Colbert Station on Parnell Street.

Getting Around Limerick
Getting around Limerick by foot is an enjoyable and convenient experience. A Tourist Trail runs throughout the city, highlighting most of Limerick's main attractions.
